Jack Benny – Jack Gets a Haircut – More Trouble with the Sportsmen. 461110

Rolling the clock back just a few minutes, we join Rochester giving Jack a haircut. Phil pops in to invite Jack over for a party at his house for Alice. The two talk about birthday gifts for Alice, listen and learn what Jack and Phil have planned for her.
On the way to the studio, Jack runs into Mr Kitzel who talks about his favorite radio programs. For travelling music Phil plays, South America Take It Away.

As the show begins, Mary shares a letter from home with topics on election day, and her sister Babe’s latest antics in the world of employment. What other family ews might be happening back in Plainfield? When Dennis arrives we learn at least one way he gets his tipsy ideas. Jack also makes a wisecrack about Mary’s fluff from last week about her “Chiss Wheese” sandwich. He then sings, Somewhere in the Night.

The Sportsmen sing the commercial based on the song, Til the End of Time. Maybe a peppier tune like the William Tell Overture will make Jack happy? Rather than doing the planned play for the night, Jack storms out to the bar where Dennis got wound up before the show.
