Burns and Allen – Guest Louella Parsons. 461114

George has to wait on his morning paper, as Gracie checks up on her competition in the gossip columns. What has Louella Parsons been writing about? Should George be worried about any other celebrities winning Gracie’s heart? As if on cue, and after he is mentioned, Phil Baker happens by to ring the doorbell. What does he want? The housing shortage has reached even Phil.

The Happy Postman gives Gracie the idea to boost George’s Hollywood prominence, and standing to compete with Clark Gable for a leading man role, to go to Louella Parsons. Will Louella believe the hot scoops that Gracie drops her way? Will the famous writer talk about George in her gossip column? Will Clark Gable be on hand to go head to head with George? Meredeth Willson arrives to give a pep talk on how a little guy can win, then he plays, Years and Years Ago.

Gracie tries to encourage George that size doesn’t matter when it comes to love making. Will her imagined scenes of passion play out the way she describes? Bill Goodwin pokes fun at Georges chances to compete with Clark Gable, mixed with plenty of sponsor flavored messages, of course.

Louella arrives, but does she know that she’s the target of George’s passionate acting? I think that from the way she’s laughing that she might be onto him. What about Clark Gable? He is scheduled for next week’s show. Too bad it no longer exists. At least I don’t have a copy of it.
