Their friend Sylvester calls with words of encouragement. Amos tells why he was put in jail in the first place. He had somehow been blamed for a robbery. Kingfish comes to the rescue in this episode when he enters with the lawyer, who then takes charge and begins getting the story.
Wow, what a difference the early Kingfish was, compared to the one of later years. He actually is caring and helpful, as opposed to always looking out for himself, and getting his friends into trouble, instead out of it.

The mood turns somber on the big day when word comes that the nephew and his friends have been called into action, and won’t make it to the feast. In his sadness is pride, and inspiration.
