Whistler – Backfire. 461028

Amy dumps Carl with a final fling at a night club. Her husband is returning, and Carl has to return to his place as the lowly chauffeur. We learn that Carl was hired directly from his release from a state prison, and the whole let down of stepping down is irksome for him.

Arthur has heard of his wife’s indiscretions in his absence, but he is told that it’s that she has been seen with the orchestra leader, not Carl. On top of his emotional trouble at being dumped, Carl is now jealous at Amy for going out with the band leader while she was using him. What will she say when he confronts her with the matter?

Jealousy and anger burns in Carl, and he makes plans to kill Amy. He lets Arthur know for sure about the bandleader, and watches the dysfunctional marital sparks fly as they never have before between his bosses. When Amy drives off in a rage, Carl shoots Arthur, and hides the gun in Amy’s room. Now all he has to do is wait. How will he cover his tracks to indicate that Amy never took that drive, and was out during the time of the murder? The plan is working out better than expected, and the police play their part in this little set up so well.

The Whistler still has a card that hasn’t been played yet. Will Amy be left to take the fall? Will Carl somehow be exposed? Is there a secret, or other detail that will pop up to bring justice on all the guilty parties involved?
