A professor keeps at his experiments to find the elyxir of life, but his lady visitor is just feeling frustrated and neglicted. Is he getting close to success? What are those wierd blue flames?
Though the woman grows increasingly creeped out, the professor can see the two men next door playing cards. One is her husband. Suddenly a wierd feeling comes over one of the card players. Just before passing out, he shares with his friend that he wants his body tested for poison if anything should happen to him.
Though she’s suspected, the authorities give up on finding dirty dealings with the death, but his friend isn’t so certain. Her weakness is that she believes the reports of the authorities, and that her husband’s death was natural.
Will she pay off the professor? If she does, what action might he take to get back at her? The blue flames seem to have a mind of their own.
