Casey Crime Photographer – The Red Raincoat. 460829.

A woman is a red raincoat tries to duck out of the rain, but is gunned down. Her killer flees down an alley, but can’t be found. The woman is identified by her unique raincoat, and a gossipy witness emerges to tell the dirt on the dead woman, and a twisted love affair. On a closer look, the witness makes a positive identification, it ain’t who she thought it was, and it rearranges all the motives to who did the killing

. The only thing the cops, and Casey can figure is that it had something to do with the red raincoat, but what?

The dead woman’s husband, Mr Randal is notified. Do the cops suspect him? What about his neighbor, Mr Gilhorn, or his wife? She was the one originally thought to be killed. A tale of two loves comes out, and it shouldn’t be too difficult for the observant listener to figure out what happenedCasey gets some great shots for the newspaper, but he begins to wonder if the open and shut case has really been solved.

It’s off to the bar, and a chat with girl reporter, Ann Wilson, and bartender Ethylbert. As usual, the casual atmosphere is just the trick to give Casey’s brain a chance to relax and see the facts from a new slant. Now he’s off to nab the real killer. The evidence is flimsy, but enough for Casey to use to put the squeeze on, and blow the lid off an almost perfect crime.
