My Little Margie – Verne Buys a Racehorse 550417

The opening is missing, and we find Margie listening to the play by play coverage of a horse race on the radio. How does her horse do? We learn that her betting is condoned by her dad, Vern Albright, only because he was trying to teach her a lesson on the downside of gambling. Of course, her horse wins.

Vern finds himself on the losing end of the bet, but is there still hope to rein in Margie’s spending habits? Jokes about shopping, dresses, style and fashion are the theme.

Though Vern set out to teach Margie a lesson, she is now bent on teaching him a lesson instead. Who will be sneaky enough to outwit the other? Margie is tempted by a car salesman. In describing the car and salesman, Freddie gets a little confused. If Margie is going to lose her bet, she has a plan to make Vern lose even bigger.
