Hermit’s Cave – The House on Lost Man’s Bluff. ep6, 1930’s

Travellers have car trouble, and have to stop at an abandoned cottage at the edge of a valley. Charles is Nan’s brother, and Denton is her husband. Denton has taken a new job in a town not much further away. As a storm moves in the shelter won’t do. Can Denton get the car repaired enough to make it to the town at the other end of the valy?

Winds howl, as the car continues down the dangerous road. Another house is found, one that Denton claims to have stopped at on his earlier trip. The three take shelter as the skies turn as dark as night, even though it’s the middle of the day. Where are the owners? Why is the house left unlocked?

Denton is suddenly showing strange behavior, and wants to isolate himself from Charles and Nan. Is he going mad? Why is he laughing so maniacally? Will their future look better in the morning, once the storm passes over?

The hermit has a final word about the terror stricken Charles and Nan, and who it was who stood over Charles, trying to kill him. Could it be Denton? His body is discovered hanging in his room. Still, there’s that same creepy laughter coming from inside the house. The police in town share the secret of a murderous past inside the house on the rock that explains the supernatural history of the place.
