Burns and Allen – Watching Neighbors Daughter. 490616.

The neighbors have left town for a few days, and daughter, Emily is staying with George and Gracie. Tonight Emily is saying her goodbyes to her boyfriend, Rudy, on the porch. The teens part in a romantic mood. Next morning, Gracie is upset. After Emily went to school, Gracie has been reading Emilie’s diry, and has mistaken her romantic remarks about Rudy, as being about Rudy Valley.

Can George do anything to sway Rudy Valley from courting their young house guest? When he isn’t too enthusiastic about it, Gracie goes to give Rudy a piece of her mind. Rudy is a Yale man, and talks in circles way over Gracie’s head. With Gracie’s confusing logic, Rudy agrees to come over to talk to George in person about the girl that he is aledgedly dating.

Thanks to Gracie, Rudy thinks that George is an alum of Yale who has lost his memory, and he goes to help get his memories back. George just thinks Rudy is a nut. The adults all come to the false understanding that Emily is in love with Rudy, but when she gets home from school the misunderstandings take on a new dimension.

Will Emily be able to set the record straight on who her real love interest is? Bill Goodwin pops in to add to the confusion, as he teases with rival lady’s man, Rudy. And of course to deliver the commercial.

The real boyfriend (played by Richard Crenna, aka Walter Denton) comes over to win his girl away from Rudy Valley, as if he ever needed to. The teens leave the old timers in the dust of confusion.
