Over period of time, many prize horses have been stolen from around the city of Abilene. Lone Ranger and Tonto confront a man named Skinner to find a piece of paper. What importance does it hold? An upset rancher goes over the head of a high handed, local lawman to call in the Texas Rangers. Will this help, or just be the cause of more bad blood?

Things get personal when Silver gets the attention of the horse thieves. Instead of help, Lone Ranger is threatened with arrest by the lawmen. Tonto is captured, but the masked man gets away on Scout.

The listener is privvy to a secret about those Texas Rangers, in short they aren’t who they claim. Will this lead to a lynching of Tonto? All the while, Silver has been putting up a fight over being taken away from is true master. Realizing they have Silver, a plan to trap the Lone Ranger is layed.

By now the Lone Ranger has learned the entire plan of the fake Rangers. Can he break Tonto out of jail before its too late? Does he have a plan to get Silver back? Can he hope to put a stop to the horse thieves once and for all? It’ll be an uphill battle wsince the crooks seem to have a hold over the good townsfolk, telling lies and luring them into a false sense of justice.
