Black Museum – The Shopping Bag. ep39, 1952.

The Black Museum is a warehouse of regular items that somehow became involved in murder. Orson Wells tells us how a simple canvass shopping bag won it’s place there, as an instrument of murder.

We look in on a drama that unfolds between Stanley, his wife, and a girl. Stanley is a clerk at a junk shop, and Edith has discovered his affair with Silvia. Though the argument seems settled, Stanley is discovered by his elderly and disabled boarder after killing both Edith and Silvia.

Needing cash, and aving a spare room, Stanley takes on a new boarder. To cover his tracks, Stanley keeps killing his boarders with the drawstrings of his trusty shopping bag. With bodies hidden away in the basement, and cupboards of his litle shop, Stanley needs to do some house cleaning before he can rent the shop to move to the country. Instead, he smoothes the place out as best as he can and rents it out. Of course, bodies are found, and Scotland Yard is called on the scene. The manhunt begins, but Stanley has altered his appearance. The main hope is to trace Stanley through spending marked bills that he has in his possession

Orson summarizes the fate of Stanley, pleased to be the center of attention as he admitted every detail.

PS: Wow, what an idiot. Didn’t he realize that dead things to stink horribly by a week? His meager efforts to gloss over the hidden bodies, and renting the place out just begged for authorities to come after hi.
