Curtis and Ames are business rivals. What is the big matter at the core of their bitter rivalry? Ames is a reporter, and Fred Curtis is a high power lawyer. Curtis has gotten certain high profile crime cases out of trouble, and in his high pressure coverage, he has caused Mark Ames to lose his job. Rogue witnesses, and moderates their heated discussion before visiting his glamorous secretary, Betty. As he takes her out for dinner, Rogue goes over the case in voiceover. The evening is spoiled though when murder enters the picture.

Arriving on the crime scene at the newspaper, Rogue flaunts it in the face of the police detective that he knows more about the case than the cops do. Did Curtis do it, or does he have an alibi? Rogue ponders to himself over clues as he rides with Curtis back to meet Betty. Has he discovered a flaw in Curtis story? Has Rogue met his match with a master crime planner?

In a deadly confrontation with the killer, has Rogue managed to talk himself out of the murderous plans of a psychopath? Or has he sealed his doom? It takes desperate measures, but a visit from the always annoying Eugor is a sign that Rogue has lived to see another day. Even so, mmwill Rogue have enough to seal the case on Curtis? He gets a little help from the doctors and cops to spring a special trap.
