Jane an Irma talk about Irma’s chances of getting married to Al as they discuss Irma’s hope chest contents. As Irma steps out to the beauty shop, professor Kropotkin stops in, then joins teasing Al about his crazy business ideas. Jane tries her best to convince Al to pop the question to Irma. Will he actually buckle down and get a job?
Irma returns, but will Al ask her to marry him? All he needs is to wait until he can raise some cash to start his business. Richard offers some seed money to get Al started.
Al does the most legitimate thing he can think of and buys the contract on a boxer. The gang go to the gym to have a look at the champ, and Jane’s color commentary is brutal and honest. How can Al make good on his investment, maybe his friend Joe?
Richard phones with a proposition. Irma talks with the punch drunk boxer, and he figures he’s met someone else on his own mental level. There’s also another tie in the two discover, they’re from the same state. With a cheerleader like Irma, will Billy Boy stand a chance of winning? What’s Irma doing with those cow bells? She’s just a sports nut who is ahead of her time.
Will Al’s money, and Richard’s investment be protected? I feel a mix up coming on that will turn the tables on any potential success, but just the thing for maximum humor.
