My Favorite Husband – Marriage License Error. 490121. Liz asks George with help in doing her crossword puzzle. He thinks it’s silly, but quizzes her over current events. She shares a memory about an old flame from her high school days. They make up and pull out an old scrapbook, only to discover an error on their marriage license.
The mistake is just a typo on George’s name, but it doesn’t invalidate their marriage does it? Liz is worried, and becomes a little standoffish until she can clear matters up at City Hall.
George beats her to City Hall and convinces the clerk, Frank Nelson, to help with a prank on Liz. Frank plays along, and tells Liz that she really isn’t married as he gives her a hard time. She gets back home and really gives George the cold shoulder. She puts the padlock on their wedlock until they can go and get married again.
Enjoying his prank, George lets on that he’s having second thoughts about renewing their wedding vows. Katie, the maid, knows what George is up to and doesn’t want to see Liz suffer, so she spills the beans to Liz. George tries to laugh it off as he admits the joke, but Liz uses his own words and prank against him. She tries to use her old boyfriend to make George jealous, and makes a fake phone call.
Liz concocts her own plan for revenge. She and Katie go out for a movie, but George gets himself on TV when the fight he is in with the old flame makes the news. Liz gets George off the hook, and gets a new engagement ring out of the deal as well. With the police on her side, she forces George to give a romantic proposal in public. In the epilog, it appears that the old married routine has set back in. I guess the honeymoon is over already.
PS: The flood of backlogged shows is on the move. Just a little case of getting stuck in the que. Sorry for the delay.
