Phil enters to tell about his New Years resolution, and having a good time at parties. If you can remember it, you didn’t have fun. The conversation turns to the results of the “I Hate Jack Benny” contest. The winner will be announced in an upcoming episode. Rochester phones in with news about the new English butler, and trouble with a fire. Phil and the band plays, Let It Snow.
Phil keeps wanting to bet Jack on the Rose Bowl game, but in flashback we learn the trouble Jack had there with his girlfriend Gladys Zabisco. Mr Kitzel sells Jack a hotdog, and tosses in the jokes for free. Everybody seems to know Gladys. She must be a popular waitress at the diner. It makes Jack jealous though.
