He gets teased about his appearance and clothes, and Bud is upset because he never mentioned the sponsor on that appearance at all. Gracie is her usual dippy self, but George thinks she’s acting even stranger than usual. Artie Shaw plays, Stardust.
Senor Lee, the goofy guitarist makes plays on words to get under George’s skin, while Gracie talks about her latest dates. The Smoothies sing, Down South.
The Harvard sound man has an idea that Gracie could see a psychiatrist friend, and offers a few word association tests. Once Doctor Thorndyke arrives we learn the sound man has a name, Elliot. What will the doc learn about Gracie? Stay tuned for her surprise revelation.
Note: Of course the sound man’s name is Elliot. In real life he’s Elliot Lewis, and after this initial exposure on radio, he’s about to launch a huge career in radio. He’ll soon appear on many shows as voice actor, as well as produce and wear other hats in the biz.
