Bergen and McCarthy – Barbara Stanwick. 430502. (retro396)

Dale Evans is the shows featured singer, and she opens with a song, Canteen Bound. Charlie enters and shows off his new moustache. Isn’t he a little young to grow one? For that matter, how can a qwooden dummy even grow one? Not that it matters, since it makes for a good topic for jokes as Charlie gets grooming tips from bandleader Ray Noble and the rest of the cast.

Bill Thompson, voice actor from the Fibber McGee and Molly show, takes on the role of a newscaster, and brings a comic look at world events. Listen close. Bill does most of the character voices that he interviews, with maybe a little help from Charlie.

Dale Evans sings, Always You.

Charlie and Barbara Stanwick reminesce about old times. Financial pressure inspires Barbara to act as his business manager to get a raise in Charlies salary. Will it work? How much of a cut will Barbsra ask for her serbices?

Bonus Track:
Phil Harris. 1932. Black Eyed Susan Brown.

PS: Sorry for the huge delay in getting podcasts out. I’m still getting back into the swing of things, but with the help of a new Retrobot, the show goes on.
