After a mix up was done on accident, a locket that Lum meant as a love note, and proposal to Miss Fredericks has been randomly sent out in Cedrics delivery orders. Who will get the locket? Lum even sent his picture in the locket so whoever gets it will know it was him who sent it. Lum waits like a condemned man, afraid to show his face, and dreading the thought of facing the person who recieved his romantic gift.
Grandpap and Abner read from books in the library. When Cedric enters the news comes that Snake Hogan is down at the barber shop, the nerve center of town gossip, and he’s telling all about the locket in his loaf. Lum cringes at the ribbing that the menfolk will be giving him. Snake enters, but Lum is surprised at his good nature when he visits. Why is he so thrilled?
