Harlow wilcox opens with the commercial and sets the stage for a freezing cold Fibber. He’s awaiting a shipment of coal, and is visited by a plumber, or at least his helper. The Old Timer stops in to talk about the stormy weather, then gets busy with the work of heating the house in the basement. A phone call to Uppington is intercepted by Myrt the phone operator. Billy Mills stops in and Donald Novas heats things up with a song, I Have Eyes Only for You.
Fibber goes outside to brave the elements to talk to the water department about his frozen pipes. Bea Benaderet is the secretary for water Commissioner, Gildersleeve. except that for the gag today,, his name is VanMeter. Being valentines day, a quick joke is made on that topic. On the way home, Abigail Uppington meets Fibber on the street to talk about her love affair with Boomer.
Harlow delivers up a sleigh full of Valentines, and the mid show commercial. Back on the way home Fibber finds Nick, his Greek neighbor, who tells about his 6 kids, and skating. The Four Notes sing, Sing for Your Supper. Back home, Boomer enters to get warm and shares about the love affair with Abigail from his side of the relationship.
