On a wintery night we join in as a foursome enjoys an evening of playing bridge. Though the events seem normal, be alert for clues to a mystery. Meanwhile, as Doctor Danfield and Rusty Fairfax drive down the road, they’re flagged down by a woman, claiming that her card playing husband was shot dead from a mystery shooter from the window. Doc Danfield goes inside to examine the crime scene, but the woman’s story isn’t matching up with the facts he finds.
Does Dan have reason to doubt Blanche Hardy’s story? when a body makes its appearance, the story becomes more and more complicated. How did the lone body get into the car, miles away? what do the tracks in the snow mean?
The cops are beginning to figure out what happened, but Doc Danfield takes it further and claims to know who the killer is. Is he right? Are the Thayers, the card playing friends of the Hardy’s, guilty? How can Dan prove it? what would their motive be for the murder?
There’s still a missing link in the chain of evidence, and Doc Danfield is zeroing in on it fast. He’ll be stepping into danger before he can spring his final trap. Stay tuned and see if you can figure this out first, but stand by for a twist. Of course, Dan explains it all to Rusty at the end.
