Casey isn’t thrilled at all when Ann tells him about their next assignment. It involves a cold car ride to the country to interview a woman who nabbed two crooks who tried to rob her. It’s something of a human interest story since she was a former circus strong woman, and the wrong target for robbers to pick on.
Just what were the crooks after? Details for Ann’s story, and Casey’s photos turn up curiosities that just might be clues to answer that question. The crooks turn out to be hardcases, who aren’t talking about the crime.
The whole set up doesn’t sit well with Casey, and he returns to the farm to use his manly ways to sweet talk the former circus lady. Will his wolflly wiles win over her feminine charms? Will they both confess, and show their cards? The secret of the trunk contents is about to be revealed, but will it be the secret that Millie the Amazon thinks it is?
Twists in the plot spell danger for Casey and Millie, and the real bad guy is exposed. Note to self, never make an enemy of a circus strong lady, even if she is a retired one.
