Casey, Crime Photographer – Ex Convict. 480122.

A police manhunt has Casey in the middle of the search. The drama comes to a crashing halt when the escaped man is run down in a hit and run accident. How Convenient. Too convenient for Casey’s liking, and he shares his concern with Ann and Ethylbert in the Blue Note.

There’s an underlying current involving wealthy philanthropist, Asa Maddox. The dead ex-convict, and others are his prodegee’s who have come through his reformatory program. Casey is set up to go undercover, and enter the reformatory to see if something is rotten with the philanthropist.

The undercover disguise must be working since Casey is given a job to do. Unexpectedly though, a criminal from Casey’s past recognizes him, and as Casey learns the truth behind the operation, he is also set up to take the fall for a robbery. It won’t take all that much to convince the cops about the shady activity, but Casey has an uphill battle to convince Ann that the cute blonde he was hanging out with is nothing more than a business acquaintance.
