Vic and Sade – Invoice Preparations. 431227.

Vic has brought work from the office home again, and he gives Russel a warning to leave him be so he can finish up before suppertime. As he diligently crunches the figures from the invoices, Russel’s mere presence begins to disturb poor old Vic. What’s going on outside? Signs have been put up to warn against the fierce rabbit.A man eating rabbit. I wonder if the writers for Monte Python’s Flying Circus were Vic and Sade fans.

Of course, the telephone rings to add to Vic’s stress level. Where’s Sade? Is there someone there named Curly? The flusterd Vic may just have to give up in defeat, especially when visitors arrive.

Trivia:

  • An uncle bought Heinie Call, a rabbit:
  • Russell contends he is 14 years old and has blue eyes. No one on the show seems to have any other color of eyes than blue.
  • Vic uses the following nicknames on Russell in this episode: Dr. Sleech, Sam, Roscoe and George – all nicknames Vic used on Rush in prior episodes. To make matters more obvious that Russell is a “pseudo-Rush,” Russell talks to a woman (Mis’ Whippon) on the phone who knew him when he was a baby. *in Carberry*.. yet he’s “a nephew of Mr. Buller.”
  • When Mis’ Brighton comes to visit at the end of the episode, she brings Williard with her (again.) The two previous times Williard was mentioned, he was with Mis’ Brighton and Sade obviously calls him by his first name; this assumes he is either a very small child or a very dear friend. Recall that in a previous episode Sade indeed referred to him as a “close, comfortable friend.” Yet, Williard is never brought up in the surviving shows when Sade is gossiping. And besides that, *she doesn’t even like Mis’ Brighton and never has.* So the mystery is there for us to figure out and perhaps one day it will be solved with careful listening and note-taking, such as the mystery was solved the day we found out Frida Call was married to Mr. Chinbunny.
