It has been a dul day, spent on a dull subject and Phil can’t escape his fate with filing his taxes. Just then a call from a sultry housewife with a blackmail problem phones. Springing into action, Phil finds thugs to get into a fist fight with. Taking a more covert approach, he follows his suspects to see what else he can learn.
Philip finds another sexy dame. What does the French woman, Nanette, know about blackmail? I’ll bet she knows plenty. First, Marlowe has to touch base with the upset Mrs Gilbert to fill in more of the story. Is Ross Gilbert guilty of an affair? If his wife is so forgiving, then who could be trying to set him up? The situation involves a former marriage, alimony, and soon a murder is uncovered.
Facts are taking shape, and Philip is determined to put these puzzle pieces together. Using all his detective skills, Philip spies on his bad guys, he gets rough when he has to, and he puts on the pressure to squeeze out the information he needs. What skeletons will he find as he digs up the dirt? Philip faces down the danger, and explains it all in the end.
PS: Doing his taxes? With an air date in January, this Marlow guy sure is on the ball. Maybe he was putting together his employees W2’s or something.
