Jack Benny – Skit, Eternal Triangle. 340401.

Audio is a little weak, but good. Jack is introduced as a big hearted gentleman, and talks about ladies fashions. Mary enters to show off her new Easter clothes. The two Franks arrive then Mary shares an Easter poem. The joke is that as she reads, music overwhelms her and once the song is done, she’s still reading. Although the music is snipped out.

Jack tries to get Mary to help with a prank phone call. Hey, besides being Easter, it’s also April Fools Day. Jack introduces the play involving a woman and her hard to get along with husband. Frank Parker’s song is snipped, and the skit based on a recent film is begun. Mary tries to get rid of her husband Lionel, but ends up with Clark Benny romancing her.

Note: The show closing has the cast saying goodbyes to each other. This program ends the Chevrolet sponsorship, and Jack will return with a new sponsor, and new cast members.

Also, there’s a joke that may go over some people’s heads relating to the French maid. She talks with a German accent and is said to also work for Fank Pearl. Frank Pearl was a well known vaudeville comic and early radio star who did his act with a thick German dialect.
