Black Museum – A Ladys Shoe. ep22, 1952.

Orson Wells takes us on a tour through the Black Museum, then presents a featured item, a lady’s fashionable shoe.

It was a dark and stormy night as the middle aged couple in love drove down the road. Taking shelter for their honeymoon, they arrive in their real life castle, complete with moat. It didn’t take long before Elizabeth had reason to be displeased with Henry. She learned that her hubby has been making advances towards the maid. When Elizabeth decides to get a lawyer for a divorce, she comes up missing. Smelling a rat, the maid suspects something worse.

Soon, more suspicions are voiced around town over the womanizing Mr higgley. It’s nothing that Mr Higgley can’t just let slip by, until a detective from Scotland Yard arrives for a visit. Even so, there’s nothing suspicious, right? Then why did Mr Higgley suddenly disappear with his latest girlfriend, Muriel? A manhunt is begun, but the charge is over a matter of forgery. The police turn up the heat on the search, and find the body of Elizabeth. Suddenly Henry has a lot more to worry about.

PS: If I’m not mistaken, this same case was dramatized in the Secrets of Scotland Yard. Check out Secrets Of Scotland Yard – Murder At Moat House Farm.
