After a tin box was left for safe keeping at the new bak, Lum is sure the diamonds hidden in the bottom were stolen. After checking up on details he learned from Squire Skimp, Lum has checked at the county seat and the story seems to have plenty of support. The guys need to advance carefully since they aren’t supposed to know what was in the contents of the box.
Lum and Abner check the newspaper for lost and found reports to see if anybody is missing any jewels. Along the way, Abner gets confused over an item about a lost Mexican hairless. Lum imagines the missing jewels belong to a wealthy and attractive widow. what will he do with all her oil wells and railroad holdings?
