Lum and Abner – Box Contains Diamonds. 410901.

When a tin box has been left in their care for safe keping, it fell and broke open. Lum found diamonds inside, and the name on the insurance papers in the box have a different name on them than the man who left the box, John Devroe. Is there criminal activity involved?

Abner gets a little confused, and thinks of gangster names for him and Lum. As Lum goes over the details of the incident, he is more and more sure the diamonds are stolen property. Abner gets confused over the term, “giving the 3rd degree.” Is that a lodge thing?

Squire visits, and Abner drags him into the confusion over the aledged attempt to get John Devroe into the lodge. Huh?

Somehow, Squire becomes a fountain of information that might help Lum in his investigation.
