Gunsmoke – Dutch George. 551120.

Out on the prairie, a stranger spooks a cowboy as he cooks at his campfire. There’s nothing to worry about, is there?

In Dodge City Matt gets word that Dutch, a famous horse thief who is known for getting off his legal charges, is in town. Matt confronts the man and warns him to be on his best behavior. Dutch isn’t really a bad man, just in a business on the wrong side of the law. That cowboy from the opening scene gets into Dodge to report his horses have been stolen. Now Matt and Chester have to try to catch Dutch before it’s too late, and he gets away. When Matt finally catches up, the herd of horses are stampeded.

It’s as happy an ending as it gets. Dutch loses his horses, and the evidence Matt needs to haul him in. Matt doesn’t have to arrest Dutch, but gives him a warning to keep his act clean, or somebody will be hauling him someday. And something else, the cowboy who lost his horses pulls somestrings to get them back.
