An old timer, and a friend of Casey approaches him about a spiritualist who claims that the old guys dead wife is trying to contact him from beyond the grave. He even has a spooky picture to prove it. What does the swammee want from the old gent? Casey is doubtful at the thought of ghosts, and decides to dig deeper into the matter.
When the old timer ends up dead, the cops shine some light about the scam for Casey. Now it’s time for Casey to take some revenge of his own on the fake swamee, and put his game to an end. It’s time for a visit to the Blue Note, and a chat with both Ethylbert and Ann Williams to clear his mind.
The cops can’t do much about the scamming of vulnerable people who want to place their hope in the bogus spirit world, but if Casey can help pin the murder charge on the phonies, the cops can take them down. Casey and Ann put together an elaborate ruse to lure in the swamee and pull off their own operation on him.
