After losing his memory last week, Jack has a generous demeanor instead of being stingy. Mary talks with her maid about Jack’s new outlook on life. She’s worried about Jack, and tells Don, Phil, and Dennis about it when they pop in for a visit.
At Jack’s home, we see first hand how he has been spending money every day, all week long. Even Rochester has something to say about that, although he doesn’t mind it so much when Jack tosses money his way. Jack is even generous towards Mel Blanc, who has been asking Jack for a job on the show all season. Jack takes time to do some more shopping, and wants to buy a yacht. Jack makes a few more stops on the way home, surprising all with his show of generosity. Dennis sings, You’re Breaking My Heart.
Will Jack’s new attitude last? Just when everybody is just beginning to warm up to the new Jack, things come crashing down, literally, and another bump on the head restores Jack’s memory to his old stingy ways. The problems aren’t over for Jack, who now has to deal with the result of his week of high spending and generosity.
