Burns and Allen – Tax Time. 1949.

It’s tax time for George and Gracie, and as they come home from the ballet they encounter their accountant. After years of tormenting George with her crazy antics, Gracie gets to drive their accountant nuts with her bookkeeping habits, and justifications for her unusual deductions.

Through their accountant’s slow drive into insanity, George and Gracie also help their neighbors with a romantic problem. They joke with Bill Goodwin as he tries to impress his latest girlfriend. Though Gracie makes a major flub of her lines mid way through, George keeps the audience laughing with adlibs until things get back on track.

The jokes are often old standards, but the delivery, timing, and the audience makes this a fun show all the way through.
