Assigned to homacide, it’s up to Joe Friday to hunt down a shooter on the loose. Ben Romero and Joe Friday join another cop, played by Harry Morgan. They interview a fatally wounded fellow policeman. After the man dies, Joe gets emotional, and determined to get the cop killer.
Their man in custody claims to be innocent, but when he escapes, it doesn’t stop the cops from gunning him down. Harry Morgan is back to play a boarding house owner. Another gun battle breaks out in search of the cop killer. There’s a pretty solid trail as Joe and Ben nab their bad guys.
During a lull in the action, Joe and Ben learn a new card game. On a hot tip, Joe uses all his authority he can muster to warn the next robbery victim, and catch his man. But not after a chase, sirens, and gunplay.
A thrilling, shoot ’em up drama? Not so unusual for this first season of the program.
