Our Miss Brooks – The English Test. 490814.

An AFRS presentation, and opens with a public service announcement directed at it’s military audience. Other breaks where a commercial would normally be found include other similar announcements.

Miss Brooks opens the show in a rushed conversation at the breakfast table. Instead of the usual breakfast visit from Walter, Mr Conklin pops in on a matter of business. An award for the top English student is to be given, and Connie is to administer the English test, and offer her input on the decision.

The cheerful, poetic, and talkative Walter Denton pops in for an unintended clash with Conklin. He announces that the students are having a party, and both Connie and Boynton are invited.

Later at school, anticipation of the party runs high, but there might be snags with the party host, Stretch. Pressure is on for Stretch to win the English award, but some major last minute tutoring will be in order.

With the proper use of English being the theme, an appearance by the well versed janitor is in order, and he rakes Connie over the coals with her use of cliche’s and figures of speech. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Connie gets resistance as she tries to clear up matters of the English languge for Stretch.

Later the test results are in, and the winner is announced. Stretch wins! Stretch wins! How did that happen? Listen in and Connie explains it all.
