Vic and Sade – Vics Photograph With RJ Konk. 1940.

Vic lounges in his easy chair on a quiet even at home. Sade darns socks, and Rush strikes up a conversation from his perch at the library desk. Instead of taking him up on the introduced topic, Vic uses the broken silence to mention to Sade about some lodge business. In a letter, he has been invited to appear in a picture with the lodge founder, RJ Konk. Isn’t he dead? How will Vic manage such a feat?

Rush help describe to Sade about the technique of trick photography. Vic considers that such a photograph would be worth having, but Sade could care less. All that lodge stuff is just so much silly nonsense to her. The conversation takes trips down bunny trails about trick photography, famous dead people, and the plausibility of being taken seriously at such images. I think she’s missing the concept of the novelty of the whole thing. It isn’t supposed to be believable.

vic is faced with Sade’s old stand by arguement of spending money on frivolous stuff.

Note: the episode even comes complete with a little theme music at the beginning and end.
