After having little luck with collecting on debts to the store, Lum applies the little he has brought in to advertise for his latest investment idea, a matrimonial bureau. Abner doesn’t want to do it since their last try in the matrimonial business didn’t work out. Lum is sure that they just didn’t apply themselves well enough before.
Lum talks Abner around to seeing the venture as his own idea. They try to fine tune the advertisement for the newspaper, and decide on a business name.
Abner gets confused on who Cupid is and what he does with his bow and arrows. Lum’s ad is so tempting he decides that married life is for him, and he wants to be his own first customer.
