Jack is still worried about getting that phone call from Paramount, but in the meantime he presents a spoof news account. Something that he did a lot as a feature in his early shows, but hasn’t done much in a while. The dirt is dished out on top celebrities of the times. Mary even jumps on the bandwagon with a secret about Jack. Johnny Green plays, I Can’t Understand. But the number gets snipped.
Jack still hasn’t heard from the studio, but he drops hints that his qualifications are as good as all the big name actors. Kenny gets a first hand looke at how worried and mixed up Jack is. Mary flubs a line as she fakes a phone call to the studio as May West to check on Jack’s role. Kenny sings a number he wrote with Johnny Green, Robinsons Roses. But it gets snipped Darn.
Mary and Kenny pitch story ideas to Jack for his planned film that he’ll be doing when he opens his own movie studio, Bennymount.
As the story ideas roll in, Mary flubs more lines. Schlepperman tries to get his story into Jack’s film as well. All the stories have the same theme throughout, in fact they’re all the same story. Bennymount studios kicks into high gear with his production. Right up until Jack gets his long awaited telegram from Paramount.
