Lately Clark has learned of the threat to the life of governor Carson by the outlaw, Florres. Clark and Asa have been thrown into jail, and today Kent is mistaken for a member of the Florres gang.
Clark takes advantage of the situation to milk the thug for information. The plans for the assassination attempt is layed out for Clark in great detail. Then when the jailbreak goes down, Clark changes to Superman to get himself out, but leaves the gang, and Asa Hatch locked up. Flying through the night, the man of steel races to protect the governor. Is the governor being brave, or just headstrong an stupid?
Will the governor believe Clark’s story of kidnap and assassination? Superman is forced to take quick action, and stuffs the stubborn politician into a closet as he poses as the governor. Did Superman’s plan work?
More dangers await as Florres prowls the governor’s mansion. Can Superman return, and fly back in time after being abducted in place of the governor? By the time he returns all he finds is an empty house.
