Jack Benny – Jack Test Drives A Car. 360510.

Jack has been appearing in Detroit all week, and when he is absent from the radio studio, we cut to the theater where he puts on his stage show at the wild applause of his fan. The heckler ggets more laughs than Jack, until Mary arrives, proving that it isn’t so much the joke told, but the way it’s told.

Mary sings a popular song of the day, Eenie Meenie Meinie Moe. Jack and Mary leave their adoring public to make their way to radio studio as Johnny Green plays a musical interlude, Welcome Stranger.

On stage, Jack brags about his roaring success he just came from in the theater. Kenny Baker gets a Mothers Day gift, and Jack has the chance to joke about being kids. After Don’s sentimental commercial, Mary phones home to talk to her mom with Mothers Day greetings. Mary reads a poem to honor her mom.

Kenny sings, The Touch of Your Lips.

Jack’s show is interupted by a fast talking car salesman. So dependable, so practical, such lines! Is this a car, or a woman? As Jack takes the car out for a test drive, Johnny plays some travelling music. Don and Mary worry about Jack, when word of an auto accident comes to the studio.

The cast rush to the hospital where Jack is recovering. Doc Schlepperman arrives and the medical jokes kick into high gear. Don is such a pal, and offers himself for a blood transfusion for Jack. As the show wraps up, Jack is suddenly inspired to shout the glories of Jello.

As the program ends, there’s yet another yummie recipe idea, and a word for that new instant ice cream mix. In epilog, Jack and Mary have one last medical joke as Jack tells the next show will be from New York.
