Vic and Sade – Vics Christmas Card List. 1939.

A contraversy seems to be afoot in the house halfway up the next block. Vic proposes to send cards to all his lodge friends on his list. Sade challenges him over sending out bushels of cards, and paying all that money for cards and postage for friends that Vic barely knows.

At the least, we are introduced to some strangers with some interesting names. As Vic tries to defend himself, Rush enters and wisely stays out of the arguement about economizing, and priorities. He does lend his mathematical prowess to prove Sade’s point of the expense. Though the price tag on the total bill may seem ridiculously small today, back in 1939, it represented quite a bill. Perhaps a day’s wage or so.

Vic’s rolecall of names includes a long list of names that are supposed to be friends of Sade, but She still doesn’t see the need to splurge on folks that they barely know. Will Vic’s never stop adding names to the list?
