When Alice departs, Phil laments that he can’t afford a fur coat for Alice, but Frankie knows a guy. It’s off to Grogan, and his back alley shop.
The furs in the shop all look best when the lights are out. Well, except for the furs that are still meowing. Phil settles on a diamond bracelet, but as Grogan makes his get away Phil is left holding the bag. When the cops have Alice visit the police station, she is upset to find Phil in custody.
Phil and Alice sing together, Baby It’s Cold Outside.
Alice just wants to go home, but Phil decides to find Grogan and get his money back. Grogan is in a gambling hall, and just their luck, Phil and Frankie are on hand for the cops to raid the place. When they are picked up by the cops, they now have a blonde bombshell with them. They decide to give fake names, but it still doesn’t work out when Frankie claims to be Phil, and the blonde claims to be Alice.
The next day Julius thinks that Alice and Phil are in jail, and is surprised to find Alice at home. Alice wants to teach Phil a lesson, and takes Julius to the jail with her. They play it up to make Phil sound more guilty than he is.
Alice begs Phil to just come home, but again, Phil insists on getting his money back. In the end, he’s successful, but poor Alice has yet another trip to the jail.
