Featuring Marie McDonald. George is still worried about being on television, and Gracie still has ideas about how to comfort him, and build his confidence. Gracie flubs a line but it works either way. She encourages George to sing, and he whips out a few lines before Bill Goodwin enters to talk about sex appeal, and insult George.
To escape the insults, George goes to his cigar store while Bill and Gracie talk about Marie McDonald, and after some classic illogical logic from Gracie she thinks if Marie will chase after George it will build his confidence. Gracie goes to Marie’s house and the two gals chat, but will Marie do the favor for Gracie?
They all plan to meet at the beach where Marie will try to build George’s confidence. George’s self confidence isn’t helped wen everybody at the beach is laughing at him.
When Marie approaches in her strapless bikini. Gracie heads into the water and Marie makes her seductive moves. The oblivious George is able to resist her, and encourages her to get over him. When Marie leaves, she talks with Gracie about the bargain to introduce her to Bill Goodwin. Did her attempt to improve George’s self esteem work?
Later George has been so affected by the confidence building exersize that he lounges at home in his bathing suit. As George puts it, “How can you cover up a Rembrandt?” Bill comes over, Marie comes over, and as the two get acquainted Marie’s true intentions comes out, as does the sponsor message.
After she turns down Bill,George gets nervous when he finds marie in the house. the gals put on a show of fighting over George. Sort of.
