Lum and Abner – Townspeople Will Set A Trap For Kidnappers. 350909.

Lum and Abner – Setting ATrap For The Kidnappers. 350909. Horlicks: A valuable part of successful weight control. Every noon, just make a glass of Horlicks, the sustaining food to replace that heavy meal. It’s safe and affective.

Now let’s see what’s happening down in Pine Ridge. After the kidnap of Abner, who is really just hiding out in Lum’s house, the day ends with another fruitless search. Lum tells Abner about the tough day he’s had marching all over the countryside looking for him.

Lum is having a particularly hard time when he has had to change shoes to a size that doesn’t fit well, to make sure the tracks he left at the crime scene can’t be traced to him. Abner feels bad enough for his friend that he’s willing to volunteer to go out on the search in Lum’s place the next day. Abner begins to miss Lizabeth’s cooking, and wants the ordeal to end. Though Abner tells how he misses his homecooked meals, Lum gripes that Abner is eating him out of house and home.

A phone call comes from Lizabeth to get the latest word from Lum. Lum tries to assure her, but she is willing to put up the ransom money to get Abner back. What will our heros do if she does? Abner doesn’t like the idea of leaving the money laying around for somebody to take. Dick pops in to talk about Lizabeth’s idea, and that Mose Moose will hide out in ambush to nab the kidnapper with a load of buckshot. Dick is all for the idea, although Lum tries to talk him out of it. Then another clue is found to complicate Lum’s efforts at covering his tracks.

Horlicks testimonial: A woman tells how she took a long trip, and when the children became restless Horlicks tablets did the trick to settle everybody down. A satisfying treat.
