Features Guy Madison and Andy Devine, and sponsored by the cereal with sweetening already on them.
The lawless element in the Old West would have taken control if not for the efforts of men like Wild Bill Hickock to keep the peace. Mrs Crawford, widow of a newspaper man, keeps the presses rolling with the help of her son Johnny. An election is due, and a special election edition of the paper is ready. A knock comes at the back door, and it’s a couple of hardcases who work for one of the rivals in the election, and destroy her work. Bill and Jingles had been sent for, and ride up while the struggle is in full swing. They chase away the bad guys, but has the damage been done?
We’ll find out right after a break with that two way cereal that’s already sweetened. Two way? I wonder what that means.
Back to the excitement. Bill talks with Mrs Crawford and helps straighten up the mess. The current mayor is crooked, and is applying all his strong arm techniques to stay in office. Jingles has a sore tooth, and both Johnny and Mrs Crawford offer a couple home remedies until he can see a dentist.
Mayor Brody is tough talking with all his gunmen around him, and there’s a little cowboy trash talking going on. Back with the Crawfords, Bill and Jingles enjoy a little down home hospitality. Suddenly, the alarm is sounded. The newspaper building is on fire. It’s not a total loss, and the election is still scheduled to take place.
Next day, Brody wins by a definite margin, and nobody can understand it. What happened? I think it’s time for another sugar rush, and cram more of those pops into my head. Gotta love those sweet tasty treats, and that nifty aluminum bag too.
Back to Bill and Jingles. Brody has rousted up an angry mob to chase our heros out of town. Despite his sore tooth, the feisty Jingles stands his ground with Bill. Wild Bill has the election figured out, and exposes the scheme of how Brody faked the election.
What gave it away? What was the evidence that was the clincher for Bill? I think I know, but if you don’t, then just listen in and enjoy this western adventure and mystery on your own.
There’s a matter of a ballot switch, and with the real ballots found, the real mayor is elected, but what about that sore tooth of Jingles?
