Superman – The Case Of The Double Trouble. 490309. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. It’s Superman!
Today Metropolis becomes the sene of spectacular robberies. Jimmy and Clark anxiously await an interview about the latest round of robberies in town. A rich matron appears and identifies Clark as the thief. Clark claims that the accusation is ridiculous, and has an alibi.
The waters are muddied with he claims that Perry sent him out of town, but Jimmy claims that Clark invited him out to go somewhere in town at the crucial time. Perry claims he made no such calls to send Clark out of town. The plot thickens when Lois is arrested. She claims that Clark phoned her to have her meet him on the corner where she was picked up. Her arrest is based on her voice being recognized at the scene of a robbery. It all makes
it seem that the crew of the Daily Planet is lying, but if you ask me it sounds like the real theif is going over board with the fake phone calls, and it should be obvious to the cops that they are being set up. But hey, it’s a radio show, and the point is that our heros are buried under a mountain of circumstantial evidence.
Who is impersonating them? At least impersonating their voices. As the reporters discuss the situation, it emerges that they wrote stories about the robberies. Can it be that the thief is upset with the way he was portrayed in the press? When a phone call from Jimmy comes in, Clark seems suspicious, but is it yet another trap? Even the cops fall for it, but will they be in time for the real emergency? The cast try to untangle more false phone calls, but Superman swoops in to calm the matter, and to direct everyone back to the Daily Planet where Clark will disclose all the secrets.
I’ll bet they find that the reall culprit has been right under their noses all the time. Who could it be? If you don’t already know, just listen in, get all the clues, and let Clark tell all.
