Everybody has a special neighbor and Ozzie’s is Mr Thornbury. They share time together as they have a cup of coffee. As they make small talk, Ozzie goes into flashback mode to tell about a young stranger who came to town. A boy wants to buy something from a store, but needs help getting credit. He drops names, and Claims to be the son of Bing Crosby. Store owner, Mr Miller, doesn’t recognize the name, but Ozzie does.

Ozzie is cordial and invites Lindsay to dinner. Even playing along with the assumed tall tale he thinks the boy is feeding him, and offers to have Lindsay bring his famous dad along as well.

In the Nelson home, Harriot lets Ozzie know that Ricky has been telling lies at school. Ozzie tells about the kid in the store who was telling lies, but Harriot claims that Bing is supposed to be in town. Can it be true?

Emmy Lou, the excitable teenage neighbor raves about Bing Crosby being in town. The gals gush about their crooning favorites, and Ozzie hams it up by singing a few bars. Thinking it’s all still a lie, Ozzie phones the hotel where Bing is supposed to be staying. It’s all true but Bing isn’t available to come to the phone.

The flashback returns, and although Ozzie is still reluctant, and not wanting to believe it all about Bings visit, the family rush around to prepare the house.

Bing arrives, and Lindsay is outside with the Nelson boys. Ozzie talks with Bing about comedy bits. Bing tels about his recent hunting trip. The boys all come in, and Lindsay exposes Bings lies.

As Thorny and Ozzie continue to drink their coffee, Ozzie continues to relate the details of Bings visit. Bing plugs his latest picture, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court. Harriot plays piano, as Ozzie argues with Bing over who will sing. Of course, Bing wins out to sing, Buttons and Bows.

The boys are industrious and manage to make some money on the visit. Ozzie is pleased, but who exactly thought it up? Ozzie takes some time after Bing leaves to ham it up a little.

Back to Thorny talking to Ozzie about all the lies, and even the ones that even Bing has told.
