Lum and Abner – High Society The First Families Of Pine Ridge. 350725. Horlicks: Carlton Bricker asks moms and dads to step aside as he talks to the kiddies about what a great drink Horlicks is as a refreshing, and delicious treat.
Down in Pine Ridge, the whole town has gone crazy over the Silver mine stock, and everyone has high aspirations to be rich millionaires. Today, Squire and Lum talk about some fashion changes for Lum. Squire has Lum all decked out in fancy clothes that mix a few different sporting styles. Lum feels a little ridiculous, but Squire seems to think he will be a trend setter.
Squire tells how his plan is to set up exclusive country clubs, and only people who are rich enough, or own enough stock can join them. Squire talks Lum into investing his 10% commission back into the stock shares of the mine. It sounds like a way for Squire to keep his money, and make Lum rich in stock holdings.
Abner stops in to join the conversation, and give his opinion of Lum’s wardrobe. Lum’s spirits just can’t be dampened, and he starts planning a big debut party for the town.
