Jack Benny – Lunch At The Brown Derby. 490109.

Don sets the stage for a flashback in the Brown Derby where two waiters argue over who has to take care of Jack Benny.

While Jack and Mary wait for their table, Jack interupts Jimmy Stewart at his meal. As they intrude at Jimmy’s table, Jack has a spell of being accident prone. Mary plugs Jimmy’s latest film, and it opens the door for Jimmy to plug his other work.

Jimmy teases Jack about his career, and lack of recent film appearances. Jack begins to brag about his latest film production, and even offers Jimmy the chance to work on Jacks next film. Jimmy holds his own with the jokes, but it’s time for Mary to leave for rehearsal.

After a few parting jokes about jack paying the check, or not, he joins the rehearsal already in progress. Jack tells Phil, Dennis, and Mary about the expected play. The sound affects man does some ad libbing to tell about a special sound affect. Jimmy Stewart crashes the rehearsal. Is he having second thoughts about Jacks picture? Ignoring the crazy cast, Jimmy has a brief romantic moement with Mary.

Jack leaves with Jimmy to help him with a dramatic script, and keeps trying to encourage Jimmy to work together with him on his next project. It’s no good, so the scene cuts to Rochester who is having trouble with the Maxwell.

Jimmy shows up to joke around with Rochester about jack and his laundry service. With one last gag with Jimmy and Jack, the show ends.
