The scene is set in the apartment of a department store salesman as he wakes, and faces the day. After waking from his nightmare, his wife offers som assurance. Meanwhile Jack and Rochester do some Christmas shopping, and talk to floor walker, Frank Nelson. Jack talks to his stand in band leader, Larry Maylin about his drunken band members. For a change, Jack visits the art department, where Mel Blanc, the salesman had transferred to. After causing trouble with Mel, Dennis goes to get a gift for his mother. As Jack waits to be waited on by the salesgirl, Rochester talks to him about what they are shopping for. I think that Mel Blanc is about to be annoyed by Jack, as he exchanges gifts. As Jack goes to buy cigarettes, Sidney Shelton, the race track tout usually tries to talk Jack out of his decision, but today he doesn’t. Mr Kitzel shows to tell about the gifts that he’s buying for his mother in law. Don tells secrets about what the band has bought for Jack, and then about his wife’s allergy to oil paint. Armed with the new knowledge, Jack has to return to Mel and make yet another exchange. The nervous Mel has stepped away, and now his wife, Bea Benaderet gets a dose of Jack’s ever changing decisions.
