Don flashes back to last year, on the day after Halloween.
Rochester talks to Jack about rowdy kids in the neighborhood, and Halloween pranks. Don and Jack talk about Polly’s recent illness. Hmm… A snag with the flashback. Polly was only recently sick, not last year. Maybe Don misread his lines.
Dennis pops in to talk about his mom, and mean Halloween tricks. Rochester spills the beans on a trick that Jack played on Dennis. Oopsie.
Jack tells Don that he wants to fire the Sportsmen. But why? He just can’t seem to control them, and they always make fun of him. Jack and Don drop in at the drugstore to catch flak from the waitress. The Sportsmen also just happen to be there, and Don leaves to clue them in about Jack’s feelings. The Sportsmen try to make up and sing Sha Boom. Will it work? Jack wants to know, what’s a ‘Sha Boom’ anyway? Good question.
Not impressed, Jack goes to his lawyer, Joe Kearns, who seems to have a short term memory problem. . Mell Blanc and Bea Benaderet are a married couple going through a divorce. With all the confusion, I wouldn’t be surprised if the couple end up with a broken contract, and Jack and Don end up with a divorce. Hey, aren’t they about the same thing? And what about the poor little children? Jack feels sorry and decides to take them, but I’m afraid he may be in for a surprise.
